My name is John Andriopoulos, and I am a Co-Founder and Senior Solutions Architect at Pressidium.
I have been passionate about technology for as long as I can remember.
My academic background is in Telecommunications Information Technology and Management, a field that gave me a strong foundation for my career. I have always been drawn to the challenge of designing systems that are not just functional but transformative; solutions that genuinely improve the way we build and use technology.
The Journey Began
Before WordPress entered my professional life, I was fully immersed in the enterprise technology world.
My work involved designing complex systems for large organizations, managing critical infrastructure, and introducing new technologies like high-availability cloud platforms and big data architectures.
I discovered WordPress when building scalable web solutions that needed to balance flexibility, security, and performance. What immediately stood out was not just the software itself but the strength of the community behind it.
WordPress was evolving rapidly, fueled by real innovation and collaboration, and it was clear to me that it would play a major role in the future of the web.
Choosing WordPress was never just a technical decision, it was a decision to be part of a larger movement.
The Need for “Pressidium”

When we founded Pressidium in 2014, we saw a real gap in the market. Managed WordPress hosting was still an emerging field, but most providers offered only superficial solutions.
Promises of speed, reliability, and security were rarely backed by true engineering. We believed there was room — and a real need — for a platform built with the same rigor and precision as enterprise systems. Pressidium was created with a very simple principle in mind: performance and reliability should be built into the core architecture, not treated as optional extras
Founding a company like Pressidium came with its share of challenges. Building our infrastructure from scratch, developing our proprietary DevOps automation, and creating a truly high-availability platform tested our skills and our resolve. There were difficult moments, but they were outweighed by the pride of seeing our vision validated by the success of our clients.
Today, Pressidium serves digital agencies, media outlets, Fortune 500 companies, and high-growth startups, and that remains one of my proudest achievements.
Myself with my Brilliant Team

The heart of Pressidium is our team. We are engineers, architects, and problem-solvers who share a passion for building technology that truly makes a difference.
Our environment is built around collaboration, constant learning, and a relentless focus on quality. It’s a privilege to work with people who bring their best to the table every day and challenge each other to go further.
Advice for Business Owners
If you are thinking about starting your own business, focus first and foremost on solving a real problem.
Hype fades quickly, but substance endures.
In the WordPress ecosystem, opportunities continue to grow in areas like performance optimization, security, and managed services. If I were starting today, I would focus on building solutions that are both technically excellent and truly user-centric.
Stay in Touch
It’s easy to get lost in technology for technology’s sake, the real winners build for people.
WordPress & Beyond
At Pressidium, our vision for the future is centered around continued innovation. We are investing heavily in automation, edge computing, and AI-driven optimization to stay ahead of the evolving needs of the modern web.
I believe WordPress will continue to thrive, especially if it embraces these emerging technologies while staying true to its open-source roots.
Competition will always exist, especially from closed ecosystems that prioritize convenience over ownership. But WordPress’s greatest strength has always been its community, and I believe that will continue to secure its place on the open web.
My Love for the WordPress Community
The WordPress community has always been a defining part of why I continue working with the platform. I have attended WordCamps and local meetups over the years, and I find them invaluable. These events are not just about technology; they are about ideas, collaboration, and a shared vision for the future of the web. For me, meetups serve two purposes: staying close to the evolving spirit of WordPress, and hearing directly from the people who build with it every day.
Meetups are essential to the health of the ecosystem. They help new contributors find their place, allow experienced members to mentor others, and create an environment where innovation can happen organically. I have made many strong connections within the community, especially with people who are consistently contributing to WordPress without necessarily being in the spotlight. WordPress is much more than software; it is a movement powered by people who believe in an open, accessible web, and I am proud to be part of it.
How I Keep Myself Updated
Keeping up with WordPress means staying close to its sources. I follow WordPress.org, Make WordPress blogs, WP Tavern, and relevant GitHub discussions.
More broadly, I stay connected to the technology world through platforms like InfoQ, TechCrunch, and various academic and technical journals. Continuous learning is not optional, it is the engine that drives innovation.
I Have a Life Other Than the Work
Outside of work, my time is mostly dedicated to my family. As a father of two, much of my free time revolves around being present for my children, helping them grow, and sharing meaningful experiences together. Holidays like Christmas and New Year are moments for reflection and connection, spent with close family and friends.
When I do find time to travel, I am drawn to places with history and character, with the Greek islands holding a special place for me. These moments outside of work provide balance and perspective, reminding me why building something meaningful matters.
I Reward Myself by
When we achieve important milestones at Pressidium, I take time to celebrate both personally and with the team. Traveling is a way I reward myself; it offers fresh perspectives and reminds me why we build in the first place.
I also believe in recognizing the contributions of the people I work with, because no achievement is ever a solo effort.
