Hi, Ivor here. I was born in Moldova and lived there the most part of my life. I have a university degree in computer science and had a pretty usual childhood, nothing special: day care, primary school, university, and work.
The Journey Began
I started reading about SEO in the early years of my university time. Then, I began to experiment and optimize some small websites.
I’ve been using WordPress since the early 2010s. Back then, it was a pretty basic blogging platform. It was easy to use and SEO friendly, so I stuck with it. These days, every 2nd or 3rd website I see on the web is powered by WordPress.
The Need for “WPINDIGO”
I started WPINDIGO during COVID-19 time. I was stuck in my home, just like everyone else, and had some extra time. I like documenting my thoughts, so writing the first articles was pretty easy. I was mainly creating and sharing WordPress tips and tricks, handy guides, resources, and articles.
I think that the biggest challenge at the moment is AI. Tech giants are using our content to train their systems and serve it to users, but small/medium publishers have lost most of their organic traffic and income. It’s just not fair.
I had a few bad experiences working with some toxic people. I realised one thing: while it’s important to do your job and achieve what you want, you don’t have to ignore the human part, which in my opinion is more important. I’m proud of my website, and If I’ve helped just a few people succeed with their WordPress sites, I’m more than happy.
I’ve worked as an SEO either inhouse or as a consultant for so many WordPress related brands: TeslaThemes, TemplateMonster, WPMU DEV, Flothemes, JPEGmini and many other related tech brands.
Myself with My Brilliant Team

I’m a one-man band and work from anywhere is possible, but mainly from home. You don’t really need that much: a desk and a laptop is more than enough.
Advice for Business Owners
We live in a highly technological world. Don’t be afraid to learn and explore new things, everything is available online for free, you just have to search. There is basically nothing you can’t learn from open sources.
Most of the businesses start from a need/necessity. If you want to solve a problem and have an idea on how to do it, go ahead and do it. As for niches, I think that creating themes and plugins is not as viable as before. You can learn new skills like coding, web design, video editing, etc., and offer services or products based on these skills. Alternatively, if you’re really good at something (Eg, barista, nothing is stopping you from launching your website and starting to earn money.
Stay in Touch
WordPress & Beyond
I’m planning to launch a few more premium themes and expand the SEO services for AI search. I would also like to build a community of like-minded users/professionals.
WordPress is here to stay. I don’t see any other platform that’s more flexible and powerful than WordPress. There will be more players, and the market will be more fragmented, but I don’t see any serious threats from other available platforms.
My Love for the WordPress Community
I’ve always wanted to attend the annual Europe WordCamps, but for various reasons, missed the events on a few occasions. Maybe next year..
Some of my former colleagues are the best WordPress professionals to chat with.
I like the guys from ShortPixel and the interview you did here.
How I Keep Myself Updated
I regularly check the WordPress.org website and subscribed to lots of newsletters + receive tons of WordPress related emails anyway.
