Saying Goodbye to WordCamp Asia 2023

My journey with WordCamps began in 2019, and since then, I have been eagerly looking forward to attending more WordCamps but the pandemic hit us all.

After a long wait of three years, WordCamp Asia finally took place in Bangkok, Thailand, and I couldn’t have been more excited to be a part of it.

I’m proud to say that WPfounders was a “Media Partner” for both WordCamp Asia 2023 and WordCamp Europe 2022.

The Journey Began

I along with my two University friends, Fayyaz and Hammad, who both work for Convesio, booked an early flight with Thai Airways to reach Bangkok on February 10th, 2023 – a week ahead of WordCamp Asia 2023.

Exploring Thailand

We lodged at the “Bella B All Suites,” which was located near the bridge, just a kilometer away from the venue – “Iconsiam”.

Arriving early provided us with the opportunity to discover Bangkok’s unique culture and learn more about the city.

Workaholic

The week leading up to and following WordCamp Asia 2023 was a blast for me as several exciting events coincided.

The WordCamp Asia 2023 took place from February 17th-19th, and immediately after, the 9th-anniversary celebration of MainWP, my workplace, began. Each day brought new releases, which kept me busy and engaged.

As the Marketing Manager at MainWP, I had a lot on my plate, but it was an exhilarating experience juggling multiple tasks and events simultaneously.

GoDaddy Party

GoDaddy adds a spark of excitement to most WordCamps by organizing a pre-event party, providing attendees with the opportunity to socialize and get to know each other before the WordCamp kicks off.

WordCamp Asia 2023 – In Action

WordCamp Asia 2023 was a huge hit, with people from around the world coming together to participate.

• 84 volunteers
• 53 organizers

• 23 people active on the video/audio team

Also, the Team WordCamp Asia 2023 captured, compiled, and uploaded 11,528 photos on Flickr.

Furthermore, they created a public album on Google Photos where attendees also shared their moments.
